"BEYOND LIMITS" – Doctoral Exhibition of Inclusive Fashion Design, at the Doctoral School of Arts of UVT

Doctoral School of Arts from IOSUD – West University of Timișoara and Faculty of Arts and Design have the pleasure of inviting you to the exhibition "BEYOND LIMITS. Inclusive fashion design", an applied artistic research project signed by Evelina – Elena Tanasie, PhD student at the Doctoral School of Arts and assistant professor at FAD.

The event takes place at Gallery 5 (Str. Vasile Alecsandri 1, Timișoara), between June 23–29, 2025, with the opening scheduled for June 23, 19:00 p.m. The exhibition is organized in partnership with the Municipality of Timișoara, through the Project Center.

Scientifically coordinated by prof. dr. habil. Adriana Lucaciu, the project proposes a clothing collection dedicated to wheelchair users, built following a complex interdisciplinary research. The collection includes 10 outfits composed of 24 clothing pieces, characterized by versatility, functionality, sustainability and unisex design.

By combining theoretical research with direct dialogue with users and contributions from specialists in the psychological, medical and educational fields, the exhibition explores the role of design as a tool for social inclusion, empathy and identity expression.

Evelina – Elena Tănasie is a graduate of the bachelor's and master's programs in Fashion Design – Textile Design at FAD UVT, where she was the head of the promotion. Her artistic and academic activity is supported by numerous participations in exhibitions, fashion shows and conferences, as well as by international recognition, being a laureate of EU TalentOn 2024 (Katowice, Poland), and awarded for inclusion in the Games of Science.

The BEYOND LIMITS collection proposes a participatory working model, based on transparency and direct communication with the user, being a plea for a fashion centered on diversity and autonomy. Clothing thus becomes a space of deeply human interaction – an extension of the body, but also of personal freedom.

Visiting hours: June 23–29, 2025, 14:00 PM–18:00 PM, Gallery 5, 1 Vasile Alecsandri Street, Timișoara.
