Anne Applebaum in Timisoara: "Why Democracies Turn Against Themselves"

One of the most influential voices of contemporary reflection on democracy, Anne Applebaum, Pulitzer Prize winner and one of the most respected political analysts of the moment, will be present at UVT on March 12 for a dialogue dedicated to the current challenges of democratic societies.

The event, entitled "Why Democracies Turn Against Themselves – A Dialogue with Anne Applebaum", proposes, in a conversation moderated by journalist Marian Voicu, a lucid analysis of the fragility of contemporary democracies, the rise of authoritarianism and the responsibility of free societies in an international context marked by tensions and profound transformations.

The dialogue will be held in English and will benefit from simultaneous translation.
