The Aula Magna "Ioan Curea" of the UVT will host a special event on Monday, November 11, from 11:30 a.m. within the 7th edition of the Corneliu Coposu Gala.
The famous French writer and historian Thierry Wolton will be the special guest of the debate "Have we learned to be free?" 35 years since the Revolution", together with several personalities of Romanian culture (Marina Constantinescu, Brândușa Armanca, Alexandru Gussi, Antonie Popescu, Dănuț Iacob).
Thierry Wolton (France) – is not only the reputed author of the monumental World Histories of Communism, but also a specialist in the evolution of the Putin regime and the influence of the Russian secret services in the West. He has recently turned his reflection on our dependence on technology and the risks to true freedom of conscience. Wolton is a lucid intellectual who abhors dogmatism, who is worth listening to because his deep reflection on the world today allows him to develop original thinking about the world of tomorrow.
Brandușa Armanca - renowned journalist, President of the European Union of Cultural Institutes (2006-2012), former editor of Europa Liberă, decorated with the cultural distinction of the Romanian Academy for "diplomacy and cultural activity", former director of TVR Timișoara (6 years)
Marina Constantinescu - producer of the beloved show "Nocturne" on TVR1, theater critic, victim of miners on June 13-15, 1990.
Alexander Gussi – political scientist and university lecturer at Fac. of Political Sciences of the Univ. Bucharest, former presidential advisor (2006), editor at "Sens Politic", member of the Corneliu Coposu Foundation
Anthony Popescu - member in the leadership of the Student League during its heyday, 1990-1996, lawyer at the ECDO, in the period 2004-2007 2007-2012 - in the files of the Revolution (resolved) and Mineriada, opened by the "December 21, 1989" Association, of the 190 injured persons, from Timișoara, Bucharest, Tg-Mureș.
Danut Iacob – vice president of the November 15, 1987 Association and active participant in the workers' revolt of November 15, 1987 in Brașov
